Have you always dreamed about starting a blog but have no experience writing? You’re not alone! Many people want to start their own blog but feel intimidated by the thought of having to create content. What if there were ways for you to learn how to start a blog without writing a word! Well, fortunately, there is!

With the right tools and strategies, anyone can become a blogger and online influencer and share their ideas or products with the world.

In this article, we’ll discuss how to get started quickly and easily without any prior experience or having to write any blog posts yourself.

Sounds too good to be true, right?

Well, luckily, there are many ways that you can start a successful blog without having any writing skills.

So, let’s get started on your journey to being a blogger (without the writing!)

How To Start A Successful Blog

Step 1. Choose Your Niche

The first step to starting a blog without writing is to select the niche you want to blog about.

A niche is a specialized area of interest, and it’s important that you pick a topic or theme for your blog so that readers know what to expect when they visit your site.

Think about the things you are passionate about, the ideas that make you come alive, and how you can make them into something helpful or interesting for others.

Once you know what you want to focus on, it’s time to move on to the next step.

How to select your blog niche:

  • Consider your interests and passions: Look at the topics you’re passionate about or are deeply interested in. This is a great place to start when selecting your blog niche. You will be more likely to create content with enthusiasm if it’s something you already care about.
  • Do some research: After deciding on possible topics, research to see how many other blogs are already talking about the same subject – you can do this with a Google search.

You want your blog to stand out from the rest, so if there are too many other sites in that niche, it might be worth exploring a different one or creating a sub-niche of a topic.

For example, you can focus on iPhone photography as a sub-niche instead of writing about general photography.

Once you’ve decided on a slimmed-down version of your topic, you can narrow your focus and build a content plan to help you create blog posts quickly and easily that stand out from the competition.

Step 2. Choose Your Blog Name

Now that you have a niche, it’s time to choose a blog name for your site. This is an important step and can be the difference between someone clicking on your link and taking your blog seriously or not.

Your blog name should be memorable, unique, and reflective of what you are all about. In what way do you want people to perceive your blog?

How to choose a good blog name:

  • Brainstorm ideas: Take some time to brainstorm words or phrases that relate to your topic or niche. Then think of how they could be combined into something creative and catchy.
  • Do keyword research: Consider using a keyword related to your niche in your domain name. Do keyword research with tools like Google and Buzzsumo to search for keywords related to your niche and ensure your blog name resonates with your target audience.
  • Get Feedback: Once you have a shortlist of name ideas, ask some friends and family members to choose their favorite name and why. Are they consistently choosing the same one and dislike specific ideas?
  • Check for availability: Once you have some ideas, see if the domain and social media handles are available with Namecheckr.

Another option is to create a personal brand with your name, which I decided on with my blog – Skyler Benson.

Choosing your name allows you to pivot and change niches in the future without being pigeonholed into a specific area.

For example, if you named your site paintballkingz.com and then wanted to write about travel in the future instead.

A personal brand also means you are more likely to make a commitment to keep going with your blog rather than quit.

Are you having trouble choosing a blog name? Try online generators such as Namify and Business Name Generator to get inspired.

Step 3. Sign Up for a Blogging Platform

Once you’ve chosen your niche, the next step is to sign up for a blogging platform. This is how people will access your blog – so take some time to choose the right one for you.

Many options are available such as WordPressSquarespace, and Wix. Each platform has its own features and benefits and offers different levels of customization and control.

I personally use WordPress for my blog and highly recommend it. It is the best option for blogging and offers the highest level of customization and plugins to help you with SEO (Search Engine Optimization) – which is necessary for ranking higher on the search results on Google.

Once you’ve chosen the platform you will use, you’ll need to add web hosting.

Step 4. Get a Hosting Plan

Web hosting is how you get your blog online and visible to the world. It’s like renting a space on the internet where you can store all your content, images, and videos for your blog so that they are accessible to readers.

There are various hosting plans, so it’s essential to read up on them and find one that fits your needs and budget.

You need web hosting for people to access your blog, so you must choose a reliable service provider. Some popular hosts are BluehostDreamhost, and SiteGround.

I use Bluehost for my blog, which is recommended by WordPress.

Sign up for Bluehost from $2.95 per month, and get a free domain name.

Step 5. Install WordPress & Pick A Theme

Once you have set up the hosting, you’re ready to install WordPress. It only takes a few minutes, and plenty of tutorials will walk you through the process.

In addition, most web hosts have a ‘1 click install’ option that makes it easier than ever. They also have live 24-hour chat support to assist you if required.

Once WordPress is installed, the next step is to choose a theme for your blog. This is how your blog will look and feel, so you should take some time to pick a theme that resonates with your style and brand.

There are hundreds of free themes available for WordPress. Still, if you’re looking for something more unique, plenty of premium paid themes are available too.

Look for a responsive theme with customization options that integrate seamlessly with your chosen platform.

The best thing about using a template is that it lets you build your website without needing to know anything about coding or web design. Instead, it uses a drag-and-drop editor, which is perfect for beginners.

Step 6. Create Your Blog Design

The next step is to create your blog design. While this may seem time-consuming, it doesn’t have to be if you’re using a theme.

Customizing your blog will help you create an attractive and professional-looking site that stands out from the crowd. It will also help to give your site a more personal touch.

WordPress offers the most customization and lets you change the fonts, colors, and layout and add widgets or plugins.

Plugins can help you add features to enhance the user experience, like contact forms, social media integration, and more.

Step 7. Start Creating Content

Now that you’ve set up your blog, the fun part is creating content!

You don’t have to be a great writer to create quality content that readers will enjoy. Plenty of tools and services can help you generate content quickly and easily.

When it comes to blogging without writing, you have two options:

  1. You can outsource the content creation to freelance writers
  2. You can create the content yourself

How To Create A Blog Post Without Writing

Now that you’re ready to start creating content let’s look at how exactly you can without writing.

Outsource Content Creation to Freelance Writers

Hire a freelance writer to help write blog posts

Outsourcing content writing to freelancers has been the traditional approach people have taken when learning how to start a blog without writing.

Hiring a writer is a great option to create high-quality blog posts quickly without having to write anything yourself.

All you need to do is keyword research to find the best topics to write about, create an outline for the blog post, and then outsource it to a freelance writer.

There are several reputable freelance sites, such as Upwork and Fiverr, where you can find talented writers who can create high-quality content for your blog.

This is the best way to grow your blog as quickly as possible, allowing you to outsource most of the work to scale fast. However, the downside is that it can be tricky to find good writers, and you may need to try many before finding the right one. It can also get expensive fast if you are on a tight budget, especially before you have started generating revenue from your blog posts.

How To Create Content Yourself Without Writing

So, let’s look at the other option – creating content yourself.

But how can you do it without writing?

There are several different options.

Use Voice Dictation

Voice dictation is an excellent way to create content without having to write it. You only need a microphone and good dictation software, and you can create content just by speaking it out loud.

Once your computer has been set up with the software, you can easily dictate blog posts and automatically transcribe them into text. This is a great way to quickly create content without spending hours typing articles. You can even use your smartphone to record.

  • You can use Apple Dictation for free with an iPhone and Mac.
  • Braina also has a free version for Android and Windows.
  • Google Docs also has Voice Typing, so you can type and edit directly in Google Docs using your voice. It works with Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge browsers.

Record A Voiceover and Use Transcription Services

Instead of dictating your blog post and having it automatically dictated into text as you speak, you can also record a voice memo of your blog post and then have it transcribed to text later.

You can use an AI audio transcription tool for your voiceover, such as Otter. You’ll still need to proofread the text and correct any mistakes.

Or you can use professional human transcription services such as Rev or TranscribeMe to turn it into 100% accurate text.

Human transcription is more accurate than AI but is a lot more expensive.

Recording voice memos instead of just dictating your blog post has a significant advantage. You can re-purpose the recordings as podcasts or audio versions of the blog posts.

Transcription services let you quickly and easily create content without writing anything yourself.

Create YouTube Videos

Start a YouTube channel then turn the video into text

You can also create blog posts without writing by creating YouTube videos. But, of course, you don’t have to be a professional videographer, either. Instead, you can produce great content if you are articulate and knowledgeable about a topic and can even record videos using your smartphone.

When it comes to YouTube videos, how-to guides, and tutorials are extremely popular. People often turn to YouTube to learn how things work and how they can do something.

Then you can transcribe the videos to text using tools such as Veed or Happyscribe and publish the text as blog posts. Unfortunately, the accuracy is only between 85-99%, so you’ll need to proofread them and fix any mistakes (or hire an editor to do so).

Use AI Content Writing Tools

This method is my favorite way how to start a blog without writing and the one I recommend most. It allows you to create blog posts up to 10X faster than any other method. That is to use AI content writing tools to write the content for you.

AI content writing tools use machine learning and natural language processing algorithms to generate content based on your input and produce unique, high-quality, plagiarism-free blog posts in minutes.

All you need to do is provide a topic and some keywords, and it will create a blog post from scratch. This can be a great way to quickly create high-quality content without writing anything yourself.

Jasper AI is one of the best tools for AI content writing, and you can get a 10,000-word free trial.

You should, however, think of AI content writing software as a writing assistant. It is a tool to help you write great content rather than do it all 100% for you. Of course, you’ll still need to proofread and edit each blog post. But you can significantly speed it up using Grammarly, which will review the spelling, grammar, punctuation, and clarity.
